The birth of a spinning cup.
I opened the door to ceramic art four years after my life in Israel began.
I started attending a weekly ceramic art class with a friend's introduction.
When I was living in Japan with my visually impaired mother, I often saw her knock down her cup. These occurrences pushed me to desgin this unique cup, which won't fall over if it's accidently hit.
A turning point in life
After my divorce in 2019, I decided to commercialize my design.
The Amakusa pottery stone that I learned on since the very beginning; The piles of stones, where I used to play when I was little. It all came to my mind.
I felt like I was connected.
Upon making the decision to commercialize my design, i immediately searched for the nearest Arita style pottery in Japan and flew there to start my project.
After discussing my design with the pottery, we came to the conclusion that creating the design using Arita style pottery - which included creating the product by hand - was not efficient enough and not realistic for commercialization.
After discussing next steps with the craftsman, i was given advice, that along with trial and error, resulted in the stylish SIBUBU product you see today.
